Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving!

For Thanksgiving we decided to make turkey handprints. We talked about why we celebrate Thanksgiving and what we were thankful for.

We need to realise that all families are different and we all have different traditions that we do during Thanksgiving. Many of our families come from different parts of the world and have many languages to share. We are all unique families and that should be shared. We can be thankful for people in our families, for good health, for shelter, and for good food.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Year 1 Celebrate Bonfire Night!

Year 1 Celebrate Bonfire Night!

The children enjoyed learning all about Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night. They were very interested in the story of the gunpowder plot and asked lots of fantastic questions about the story.

The children explored different ways of painting fireworks. First they tried painting a picture on the computer. Then the children also tried printing using straws to create lovely firework patterns.

We hope everyone had a fun and safe bonfire night!

Halloween!

Halloween!

As Halloween is today we decided to make some pumpkins, spiders and ghosts. We also talked about why we celebrate Halloween.

To Keep Halloween safe, go out with your children when they are trick or treating and don’t let them go door to door in unfamiliar neighborhoods. Tell them to accept only wrapped candy, and don’t let them eat any treats until you’ve examined them for tampering.
